Right Behind You is a candid, honest and heartfelt work of contemporary theatre that cracks opens wide our bad behaviour towards the ones we love. Combining physical theatre, contemporary dance and verbatim theatre, and inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice  right behind you is scripted from real life stories that look at love - first loves, betrayals in love and redeeming love.

Performed in Bathurst at the Ponton Theatre in 2012, then again in 2013 as part of the BMEC annual season beforing touring to Brisbane, Canberra and The UK,  the work follows the story of lovers Orpheus and Eurydice told in a contemporary verbatim-style voice interwoven with stories of over thirty contributors, young and old. The work reveals the scale of how we 'love' - from sentimental accounts of first meetings and young love, to the bad behaviours, hurdles and breakdowns of relationships.

In 2012 Adam Deusien was mentored by Yana Taylor through JUMP, the Australia Council’s national mentoring program for young and emerging artists. In New South Wales, JUMP was delivered by Carriageworks. This program supported the first development of Right Behind You in Bathurst, NSW. www.jumpmentoring.com.au
